Email SPAM Policy

2 Geeks and a Pipe 

SPAMing is not tolerated by any customers of 2 Geeks and a Pipe.  If you are found to be sending Unsolicited bulk mail out via the 2 Geeks email facilities your account will be summarily Terminated, period.

To reduce the amount of SPAM the is received from the outside world the email server blocks some IP addresses from sending or relaying email though the mail server.  The blocking is performed using the "RBL", Realtime Black Hole, style of blocking known sites that are either open mail relays or known to originate spam.  

This can sometimes have the unintended consequence of blocking a few legitimate emails of users that are using mail relays that are known to be open, or originating SPAM.  The RBL sites that are used are on the conservative site so as to minimize this from happening.

If you experience problems receiving mail as a result of this, the first thing to do is contact the sender of the email and have them fix their mail server (or have their mail administrator fix the server) and then submit a request to be removed from the RBL site listing them.  If that does not work have the user move to a different ISP.
